SUZANNE BUCHANAN

AS I SPENT ABOUT AN HOUR MINDLESSLY CRUISING THROUGH ARTIST BLOGS I FINALLY SAW ONE THAT REALLY CAUGHT MY EYE. IT WAS ACTUALLY MY TEACHER, SUZANNE BUCHANAN'S OPEN SKETCHBOOK. I LOVED THE STYLE OF HER WORK AND THE SUBJECT MATTER. HER SUBJECT MATTER IS COMMON AND SIMPLE, BUT SOMEHOW THE STYLE SHE SKETCHES IN MAKES IT VERY COMPELLING TO ME. I LOVE HOW AFTER SHE DRAWS HER PIECE SHE ISN'T YET DONE, SHE HAS TO ADD A LITTLE BLURB ONTO EACH WHICH SEEMS TO COMPLETE THE PIECE. I FEEL LIKE IF THERE WAS NO BLURB THE PIECES WOULDN'T HOLD MY INTEREST AS WELL. CHECK IT OUT!

Thanks Shannon! I appreciate your feedback. I do think that sometimes it is important to add a little commentary along with a sketch. Try doing this some with your own work over the course of the semester.
